Man reviewing his dental insurance When you think about dental insurance, do you look forward to parsing through legal jargon to look for coverage only to find out that your treatment was some sort of exception that’s not covered? No one does. Unfortunately, if you don’t handle dental insurance policies on a daily basis, they can seem like nonsense and be extremely frustrating to dissect. At the Ardmore dentistry office of Jamie Guthrie, DDS, we’re here to help our patients take the frustration out of dental insurance coverage and offer clear, accurate price estimates to help you budget for your dental treatments. If you’re covered by Delta Dental Premier insurance, we can offer superior coverage for your dental care. We are in-network providers for these insurance plans. Your Delta Dental Premier Plan

Woman surrounded by question marks Every dental insurance policy represents an agreement between an individual, an insurer, and in many cases, the individual’s employer. These agreements outline a monthly premium paid by the employers and/or the patient to the insurance company. This premium allows the insurance company to cover all or part of the costs of specified dentistry services. You’ll receive this coverage up to an annual plan maximum typically between $1000 and $1500. In most cases, patients receive coverage for preventive and restorative treatments, and when elected, patients receive a small percentage of coverage for orthodontics. The best plans also cover things like dental sedation and oral surgery.

Maximize Benefits with Dental Checkups

Patient calculating insurance When you visit our team twice a year for dental checkups, your Delta Dental Premier plan will usually cover between 80 and 100% of the cost of these services. At these regular visits, we will closely monitor your smile for signs of oral health concerns, so we can intervene to help you prevent dental damage and decay before it begins. When oral health concerns aren’t avoidable, they are diagnosed in earlier stages. This ensures you receive the most conservative restoration solutions that not only preserve healthy tooth structure, but the conservative treatments receive a greater percentage of dental insurance coverage than more advanced restorative options. When you visit us for regular preventive care, you’ll receive the maximum coverage from your dental insurance plan, and keep your smile healthy, avoiding the need for pricier advanced dentistry services.

In-Network VS Out of Network Coverage

Woman checking in at dental office We are in-network providers with Delta Dental Premier. That means our office has contracted with Delta Dental to provide patients with covered dentistry services and charge a fee deemed fair and average by the insurer. That means you will only need to pay the out of pocket percentage of the cost of your treatment. Out of network dentists may charge higher fees than those outlined by your insurer, usually this difference is minimal, but you will need to pay the difference in price as well as your out of pocket percentage of treatment costs.
